This term, Year 4 have been exploring pizzas.
We have enjoyed tasting pizzas, exploring packaging and marketing and thinking about the things we like and dislike about them.  We have designed and made our own pizzas. We had lots of fun, learned lots of new skills and our pizzas were delicious! Yum!

Thursday 4th November:
To celebrate Diwali, we learnt about the history of this wonderful festival and looked at Rangoli patterns. The children tried to draw and make their own patterns on paper, using a grid.

On Thursday 4th November, Year 4 experimented melting chocolate.
The children were trying to work out how to make chocolate rice krispie cakes that wouldn't melt so fast. They decided to test different types of chocolate - milk, white and dark - to see which melted the slowest. Almost all groups found that dark chocolate melted the slowest and they would recommend using a chocolate with a  high cocoa content in hot weather!

Click on the link above to get access to a website where children can practise their multiplication tables check.
It is similar to the one they will complete in June, so it will be useful for them to get used to the format.

Key Instant Recall Facts are designed to support the development of the mental skills that underpin much of the maths work in schools. They are particularly useful when calculating, either adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing. Take a look at conkermaths.org for tips and hints.
