Monday 16th May:
Year 1 have enjoyed learning and listening to their new story 'The Legend of George and the Dragon'. They had to stand still and freeze frame one of the five parts of the story.

Thursday 12th May:
Year 1 had a great time in the garden planting sunflowers and corn, they hope to be back soon to do lots more planting and weeding.

Year 1 and 2 attended the Multi-Skills Tournament at Billesley Tennis Centre last week. They completed a variety of different activities - their favourite being the snowball fight! All the children were a fantastic representation of St Martin de Porres. Well done! Look at the photos:

Please find below a letter from Miss Michelet with information on the RWInc scheme:

Friday 18th March:

Year 1 enjoyed having a go at designing their own playgroup equipment from recycled materials. They worked together and thought carefully about their design to make it effective.

Monday 7th March:
Year 1 enjoyed role playing the story of Little Charlie. They worked hard in their teams and are gaining in confidence to perform to their peers.

Wednesday 20th October:
This morning, Year 5 read their story to Year 1.

Friday 8th October:
We wore green and brought some money for the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development.

Thursday 30th September:
In Science, we went on an autumn trail. We looked at our environment and found characteristics of autumn. We then put them into different categories depending on what we saw, smelt, felt and hear.

Friday 24th September:
Year 1 enjoyed learning about Andy Goldsworthy and going outdoors to use nature to create their own interpretation of his art.

Friday 17th September:

This half-term, we are looking at toys in History. We will be looking at old toys and the difference between toys today and what they used to be. To begin our topic, the children brought in their own toys and started thinking about the different materials that they were made of.
Year 1 were working hard in English when building their sentences. They made sure they made sense and had a capital letter and full stop.

Children’s safety is of utmost importance to us all. All children in Key Stage 1 should have an adult with them on the playground every morning until they are collected by their class teacher at 8.55am.

Key Instant Recall Facts are designed to support the development of the mental skills that underpin much of the maths work in schools. They are particularly useful when calculating, either adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing. Take a look at conkermaths.org for tips and hints.
