Mrs Barwell has started an online club to learn more about the man that she considers to be the greatest writer in the English language: William Shakespeare. Some of you may remember assemblies that she has led on this amazing writer, who has had a huge influence on the English language.
He wrote 37 plays: some of them are funny, some are sad and others are based on historical characters (e.g. English kings like King John and King Richard III and the Roman emperor, Julius Caesar). He also wrote some incredible poetry. William Shakespeare lived from 1564 until 1616.
Every Friday, Mrs Barwell will share some information or an activity based on one of his plays. We will also find out what it was like to be alive in Shakespeare’s time.
