Take part in the world's largest wildlife survey.

It's that time of year again when the RSPB ask people around the UK to take part in their annual Big Garden Birdwatch 2021.  Running from 29th to 31st January 2021, the Big Garden Birdwatch is perfect for the whole family.

To take part, all you need to do is choose any hour between 29th and 31st January to head outside and see what you can spot.

Picture
It’s really important that the RSPB know whether the number of different types of birds is increasing or decreasing and they can look at the big picture across the UK and the world.

On this page you will find recipes, activity sheets and creative resources which can be fun for all the family.

We would like to see what you have found out, any drawings/photos of any wildlife you have spotted or anything else you have created to do with the Big Bird Watch. Please share with your teachers on BGfL.

The Big Schools Winterwatch Live Lesson

Picture
Learn some key skills to help you get outdoors and find out more about the birds in your environment with a very special Live Lesson at 11am on the 28th of January 2021.
This cross-curricular programme in partnership with the RSPB and BBC Two's Winterwatch will allow Key Stage 2 pupils to experience the magic of nature in the winter from their classrooms and homes, and arm them with the necessary skills to go out and explore their local wildlife with the Big Schools Birdwatch.

To watch the Live Lesson, click here
To make it easier for pupils to access remotely, the programme will also be airing on the CBBC channel at the same time.

Here are the resources to go with the live lesson:
