Parents/teachers association

The PTA are running an art competition this November. Please watch this video for ideas:

Why We Have a P.T.A at St Martin de Porres'

The PTA supports the school by providing refreshments at school events, arranging fun activities and social events for the children and their families and raising funds to buy equipment and resources.

We aim to build effective relationships between staff and parents to enhance the learning experience of the children during their time at St Martin de Porres.

When your children join St Martin de Porres School you automatically become a member of the PTA.  Why not get involved – you will be very welcome.  Is there something you or your family have a particular interest in that you could share with the children or families at the school? Or maybe you have an idea that will benefit the children or a fun social event for everyone – Let us know.

You can contact any member of the committee via the school office or most days on the playground after school.
Committee:
Chair Person: Angie Solomon
Vice Chair: Zubida Shah
Secretary: Tracey Dudley
Treasurer: Farah Zafar

Staff Representative: Mr J Gray

How You Can Help...

You don't have to join the committee to make a difference. Whether you choose to be actively involved in the organisation of events and activities is up to you.  We are always looking for help and ideas so if you feel that you would like to get involved please feel free to join us at the next meeting (dates to be added to diary).

The summer fair is our main fundraising event and requires a lot of willing helpers. We are always looking for volunteers to transport equipment, do last minute shopping, set up, 'man' stalls and help to clear up, before, during and after the event. It is hard work but rewarding. You feel a sense of achievement from working together as a team to raise money for the school so that every child at St. Martin's can benefit. If you can spare an hour or more or help in any way at all before or during the fair, please make yourself known to us (committee members / class reps or teachers) as 'more hands make lighter work.'

There are no limits or expectations within the association, you can help as little or as much as you like.

Of course coming along and supporting our events and joining in as much as you can is what makes the PTA at St Martin de Porres such a success.
