We are delighted to announce that our school got rewarded with the Modeshift Stars Bronze distinction.
Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel.
The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.

On Thursday 21st June 2018, Mrs Banks took three girls to the Council House to get the school's Bronze Award. Thank you Laila (Year 6), Deepika and Isabel (Year 3) for representing the school.

We are proud to announce that our school has been awarded a school's membership of Music Mark - a National organisation and Subject Association for Music Education (read below).
Becoming a 2017/2018 Music Mark School Member is recognition of all the hard work the staff do to ensure that pupils at our school are able to access and engage with a high-quality music education. This welcomes and celebrates our dedication to offering and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.

Music Mark is a strategic lead organisation that works on behalf of its members to enable high quality music education for all children and young people by influencing, supporting and connecting.
  • influencing decision makers. Helping them to understand the important contribution music makes to every school.
  • Supporting the development of a coherent and high quality music education for all children and young people.
  • Connecting the network of music services with the wider community of music educators.
You can visit the website www.musicmark.org.uk for more information.

Progress Achievements
The BBC has recently published progress achievement statistics for Reading and Writing. A breakdown by local authority can be seen by visiting www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk

It is wonderful to see that out of 364 schools across Birmingham, St Martin de Porres is 49th in progress for reading and 25th in progress for writing standards. For you as parents, this means you can be confident that, whatever you child’s starting points and talents, she/he will make progress that contributes to us being one of the top 15% of schools in Birmingham. This is down to the hard work put in by staff and children throughout the school – well done to you all.
