Year 2 children's work

During the school closure, our Year 2 children are keeping the good work at home!
Picture
Read Isabella's story:
Once upon a time there lived a sad dragon. He was sad because he hadn't got a golden star at dragon school. There was some elves near by and they were called Jermy, Isabella and Rosita. The elves asked the dragon what was the mater, he said he hadn't got a golden star so they helped the dragon. They helped him win a golden star by training him with dragon tools that were sharp and dangerous. The dragon felt happy because he got a golden star. The end.

Look at Alveera's investigation:
How can you identify objects in your house?
Select at least 15 random objects in your house. Consider how they are similar and how they are different to each other.
Draw the selected objects into groups based on what they have in common eg. Size, colour, shape, feel
You could sort them into a table like this.

All about pupps:
Picking a dog: Before you choose a cute, sweet puppy you will need to pick one. Find as much as you can about its parents. If the adult dog will be big the puppy will grow like them to. If you can play with this kind of pupp to see what they are like. Look for one that likes people, as well as its brothers and sisters.
A place to sleep: There is a vast range of dog beds available. before you need too spend too much, remember that you'll need to change its bed before it grows. Put the bed in a warm quiet place.

In space there lived a astronaut, he explored everything. His favourite thing was to explore the earth. He thought that it was interesting because there was lots of things to do and there where intrasting animals. His least thing was that he didt like some of the people but he didt realise that he was getting use to it untile this very day. He realised that he was getting use to the earth but one day he realised that he got use to the earth. His name was calobe but he started thinking about the earth and thought if there where people in the world that where changeing to good so he discoverd that some people where changeing to good so he liked the earth more and thats when he sorted the misstary and setted off back to space.
Tigress was a teenager girl who was mean. One day someone called Carmen came on a team and they were all professional robers. Tigress was mean to Carmen.
Carmen was very serious about missions, but one day she ran away and one day came to somewhere cold and icy.
One day she saw lots of black and white polar bears, but they were very friendly, so they became best friends, but they broke up. Do you know how they broke up? I know and if you don't know you are about to find out...
The polar bear accidently scrached her and they never saw each other again.
24.03.20 Read Joseph's story "The lava survivors":
31.03.20 Read Neyla's story "The lost girl":
A man and two others, the camera man and the assistant, they were making a film. They were going to swoop down and over a volcano so they done it but they ran out of fuel and they fell into the volcano! Inside, it was toxic because of the lava. In about 2 hours a rescue helicopter came and the man got rescued! But the camera man and the assistant were still in! So they came up with a plan: they would climb the veins of the volcano. Soon later, the assistant stopped because it was too dangerous. Though the camera man carried on and got out alive! A few hours later a helicopter came and saw him and the assistant was saved but he had to go to the hospital because of the toxic gas. THE END
Once a pone a time there was a forest it was dark, damp and scary no one likes to go there. Then a grizzly, hungry bear came! He went to search for something to eat but he didn't find anything. Somehow a person came she was a little girl. Surprisingly the bear saw her the bear starting to lick his lips he got some forks out of nowhere. But she ran away the bear was sad because the bear couldn't find her. So the enormous creature walked away. The little girl was finally at her cottage. Finally she lived happily ever after when the creature got lost. THE END

Read these children's research on penguins:
Picture
Aisha: Penguins cannot fly but they are a type of bird. Their diet is fish, squid, krill, shrimp and king prawns. Penguins live in south hemisphere, Antarctica and New Zealand. Baby penguins hatch out of eggs on snow or ice.

Noah: Penguins can't fly even if they are bird. Their predators are lepude seals, shark and killer whale.

Ahmed: Little penguins go to New Zealand and they eat fish.

Matthew: Penguins are flit birds but they cant fly. Penguins can dive in water and are very good swimmers. Penguins hatch in eggs but spend 35 days in there.

Ivy: Penguins are part of the bird family and they're black.
Did you know? Penguins are flightless birds while others have wings for flying, but most Penguins live in the southern hemisphere. Large Penguin populations can be found in New Zealand and Antarctica. Penguins have flippers to help them swim. Humans used to hunt penguins for their oil and eggs but now they're protected so now, if you do that, you will get sent to prison, but if you don't do that, then you'll be fine.

Ismail S: Penguins eat krill and fish and squid. Penguin's predators are sharks and orcas and humans.

Lilly:
Penguins have a fishy diet: They eat shrimp, krill and squid and they drink sea water.

Ameerah: Penguins are flightless birds that lay eggs, have feathers and swim in water. Penguins live in the frozen, icy South Pole.
Penguins' diet: Penguins eat fish, shrimp and krill whilst swimming. Penguins drink the water they swim in. In their mouths they have no teeth but have spines which make sure the fish does not escape. Penguins swim under the ice to catch their food. they swallow their food whole, one at a time.
Penguins endangered: Penguins have many predators who try to eat them
like leopard seal and sharks. Luckily, they can escape by swimming away quickly from their enemies. Penguins have a black body with a white tummy. This helps them blend in with their surroundings, the black feathers make them look like a part of the sea from above, and the white on their tummies makes them look like a part of the sky from below.
Did you know?
No Penguins live at the North Pole.
The emperor Penguin is the tallest of all penguin.
Explorers first called penguins "strange geese".
Penguins don't have teeth.

Read Matthew's research on turtles:
Picture
Turtles spend a lot of time in the sea and also spend a lot of time on the sand. When turtles lay eggs they never do it in sea because the eggs will wiggle around. Baby turtles are really small animals and people can step on them really easily.

Read Izzy's research on woodpeckers:
Picture
All about Woodpeckers
Woodpeckers are part of the family Picid.
What do Woodpeckers look like? Woody woodpecker is not a good example of a real Woodpecker. Some Woodpeckers have light coloured feathers and dark coloured feathers.
Where do Woodpeckers live? Woodpeckers are mostly found in woodlands and forests where trees are abundant. Woodpeckers are abundant in southeast Asia and South America. They are dispersed in all continents except Australia and New Guinea.
What is a Woodpeckers diet? Woodpeckers eat insects and seeds. They get insects by pecking/drumming the tree and when they see an insect they eat it all up.
