Even through these colder months, it is important for children to play outdoors. Please help us to keep them warm by ensuring that they come to school wearing an appropriate warm coat, hat, gloves and a scarf. A reminder that if children wear boots for their journey to school suitable shoes should also be brought to change into for inside school. Thank you. Children may also bring tracksuit bottoms to wear for PE and/or afterschool clubs. We encourage children to drink water during after-school clubs and if they wish, a fruit snack (no crisps please!) All children in Key Stage 2 can bring fruit for morning break and ALL children should bring a water bottle every day.
Our school council has met and would like to request donations of unwanted dressing up clothes for use by our Key Stage 1 children during lunch and play times. If you are able to help, please bring any items to the school office. Thank you.
Reading Volunteers If you are able to spare an hour or two each week and would like to help listening to our children read, we would greatly appreciate your time. Children benefit enormously from reading aloud, it develops their knowledge and understanding of text. If you are able to help, please leave your details at the school office or speak to Mrs Braithwaite. Thank you.
Children very often like to share their birthday with friends in their class by bringing in cakes/sweets. Whilst we are happy to distribute these on behalf of your child, we would ask you to bear the following in mind: products should not contain nuts due to children with allergies, we would prefer cakes to be individually wrapped, however if a large ‘party style’ cake is sent in, this should be pre-cut into individual portions.
